November 2007, Appaloosa Horse Club field trip!

We visited the Appaloosa Horse Museum to further our Native American studies. It was a great trip!

October 2007, Halloween!

Who could forget our first Halloween?

May 2007, Our first Mother's Day at PELC

Our first Mother's Day at PELC was a lot of fun! We didn't have that many children here so we were able to invite all of the mothers to come and join us for lunch & gifts. We waited on them and let them enjoy some special time with their children:-)

And we had to decorate the sidewalk in order to greet our mommies properly!

February 2007. And the last thing is to fill our school!

Now that we are all painted, we have to fill the school. Only how do we do that???

It's so big it's hard to resist doing a little gymnastics here and there:-)

I don't have nearly enough stuff!

When you are here 80 hours per week, things can get a little boring...

Now I didn't mean to fill it with junk!

Bored again...

January 15, 2007. More work to be done...

First we had to give the kitchen a good cleaning!

And fix a few things...

Oh, and Matt had to move those cupboards because they were in an awkward place!

Then it was time to paint, and I recruited a little help:-)

All painted! And the cupboard is down. Did I mention Matt was very handy?

And all we had left was to put it all back together! Now where are those pictures???

January 2007, And the work begins...

When we opened we had acquired 2 spaces, but there weren't any doors connecting those spaces. We would have had to walk outside and around through the parking lot to the main glass entrance in order to get to the kindergarten room. My husband is quite handy, and with help from his friend in construction, we put 2 doors in to connect spaces 107 & 110. This is how that
went...

I think Matt had a little more fun than he'd admit knocking holes in walls and using lots of power tools. It's every man's dream right? :-)

And the completed project! It looks pretty good if you ask me! They did a great job:-)

Our kindergarten room took a back seat to getting prepped as we had preschoolers and younger when we first opened. I was the only teacher, and I had 5 children to care for and I didn't need to worry about getting the kindergarten space open until the following late summer or early fall. It didn't look too bad anyway, and yes, you can see our sleeping bags in my office where we did spend the night. That was a very, very, long day!
